PROVE IT Act | Signed into law on Jan. 23rd, 2026
The PROVE IT Act directed the Department of Energy to measure the carbon intensity of goods produced at home and abroad, helping America negotiate effectively with trading partners who have carbon tariffs in place. CCL volunteers raised the bill in 442 Lobby Day meetings on Capitol Hill and supported it with 1,870 nationwide calls. After years of persistent advocacy, Congress included very similar language in a January 2026 Energy and Water Appropriations report.

2026-Present
Sharper strategy to bridge today’s divides
Not only do we talk to lawmakers all along the political spectrum — our grassroots volunteers learn the skills to truly understand, connect, and persuade. With the launch of our BRIDGE Advocacy program and a new strategic plan, we are poised to bring sharper, more effective climate advocacy to every Congressional district.

2022 – 2025
More climate policies, more climate wins
During this period, we expanded the portfolio of climate policies we worked on in order to build more bipartisan consensus around necessary climate policy. Our advocacy supported four climate bills into law during these years.
